Biography

Alexander Johan Hjalmar Skarsgård is a Swedish actor known for his work in film and television. He is the son of actor Stellan Skarsgård and began acting at age seven, though he later stopped at thirteen. After serving in the Swedish Navy, he returned to acting and made his first appearance in the American comedy film *Zoolander* (2001). He gained wider recognition for his role as Brad Colbert in the miniseries *Generation Kill* (2008) and achieved international fame for portraying the vampire Eric Northman in the television series *True Blood* (2008–2014).
