Barbet Schroeder is an Iranian-born Swiss film director and producer known for his work in French cinema. He began his career in the 1960s, collaborating with prominent figures of the French New Wave movement. Among his early associations were directors Jean-Luc Godard, Jacques Rivette, and Éric Rohmer, with whom he developed his distinctive cinematic style.
