Synopsis
A fleet of Martian spacecraft hovers above the world's major cities, and humanity awaits to see if the extraterrestrial visitors are, as they claim, "here in peace." U.S. President James Dale is reassured by science professor Donald Kessler that the Martians' intentions are peaceful. However, when a diplomatic exchange ends in the complete destruction of the U.S. Congress, military leaders demand a full-scale nuclear response.
