Brian Grant

Brian Grant is a British music video and television director and producer who co-founded MGMM Productions with Scott Millaney, Russell Mulcahy, and David Mallet. He began his career as a cameraman before becoming a noted music video director, also working on numerous films and television series. He directed episodes of British television series including *As If*, *Hex*, *Doctor Who*, *Party Animals*, *Synchronicity*, *Britannia High*, *Highlander*, *Queen of Swords*, *Clocking Off*, and *New Tricks*. He has also directed many commercials and notable music videos during the 1980s for artists such as Olivia Newton-John, Donna Summer, Peter Gabriel, Queen, Tina Turner, and Duran Duran.

His video for Olivia Newton-John's "Physical" won the 25th Annual Grammy Award for Best Video of the Year. He is best known for his work on the 1983 Donna Summer video "She Works Hard For The Money," which was nominated for MTV awards, and for which Donna Summer became the first African American female artist to receive high rotation play at the fledgling MTV station. The video remains a tribute to women around the world. He was also hired to direct her 1983 HBO concert "A Hot Summer's Night...," after which he became in high demand as a music video director. He also directed two of singer Whitney Houston's videos, "How Will I Know" (1985) and "I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)" (1987).
