Carlos Santana

Carlos Humberto Santana Barragán is a Mexican and American guitarist who is best known as a founding member of the rock band Santana. The band rose to prominence in the late 1960s and early 1970s, combining rock and roll with Latin American jazz. Santana's distinctive sound was characterized by melodic, blues-based guitar lines supported by Latin and African rhythms, often featuring percussion instruments such as timbales and congas, which were not commonly used in rock music at the time. After a period of reduced activity, Santana saw a resurgence in the late 1990s, gaining renewed popularity and critical acclaim.
