Biography

Catherine Scorsese was an American actress of Italian descent, best known for her role as Mrs. DeVito in her son Martin Scorsese's film *Goodfellas*. Her acting career began when Martin cast her in his short film *It's Not Just You, Murray!*. Throughout her career, she often portrayed the archetype of the Italian mother. In addition to her work in film, Catherine authored *Italianamerican: The Scorsese Family Cookbook*, a collection of family recipes reflecting her heritage.
