Synopsis
Loretta Castorini, a 37-year-old Italian-American widow, believes she is unlucky in love and accepts a marriage proposal from her boyfriend Johnny, despite not being in love with him. After meeting Johnny's estranged younger brother Ronny, a passionate and emotionally intense man, Loretta becomes drawn to him. She attempts to resist, but Ronny, who holds his brother responsible for the loss of his hand, pursues her aggressively while Johnny is away. As Loretta's feelings for Ronny grow, she discovers that she is not the only one in her family keeping a secret romance.
