Biography

Claudia Karvan is an Australian actress and producer known for her work in film and television. She began her career as a child actor in *Molly* (1983) and later appeared in *High Tide* (1987). Karvan gained recognition for her role in *The Heartbreak Kid* (1993), where she played a teacher in a controversial relationship with her student. She has appeared in numerous television series, including *The Secret Life of Us* (2001–2005), *Love My Way* (2004–2007), *Newton's Law* (2017), and *Halifax: Retribution* (2020). Karvan has won multiple AFI Awards for acting and producing, particularly for her work on *G.P.*, *Love My Way*, and *The Time of Our Lives*. She has also co-produced and co-created series such as *Spirited* (2010–2011) and *Bump* (2021). Karvan was inducted into the Australian Film Walk of Fame in 2007.
