Biography

Dean Jagger was an American actor who worked in film, stage, and television during the Golden Age of Hollywood. Known as a dependable character actor, he also performed in leading roles throughout his career. He won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in *Twelve O'Clock High* (1949). Later, he received two Primetime Emmy Award nominations for his role in the television series *Mr. Novak* (1963–65).
