Biography
Forrest Richard "Dickey" Betts was an American rock guitarist and vocalist, best known as a founding member of the Allman Brothers Band. He joined the band in 1969 and played a key role in its rise to prominence during the mid-1970s, contributing to its greatest commercial success. Betts was the writer and lead vocalist for the band's hit single "Ramblin' Man." Despite the band's dissolution and reformation on multiple occasions, Betts remained a consistent presence in the lineup until his departure in 2000.
