Biography

Gerry began his professional acting career in 1976 with a role in a New York Shakespeare Festival stage production after previously working as a door‑to‑door salesman in his native New York City. He has appeared on both film and television, with credits that include the TV dramas and sitcoms Hill Street Blues, All in the Family, FOX’s Living Single, NBC’s long‑running medical series ER, and ABC’s Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper, as well as the films Blankman (with Damon Wayans and David Alan Grier), Captain Avenger, Tin Man and The Majestic starring Jim Carrey, for which he received positive reviews. As a stage performer he has worked at the New York Shakespeare Festival, the American Place Theatre, the Pocket Theatre in Detroit, Playhouse in the Park in Philadelphia, Westbury Playhouse and Cherry Lane Theatre. He has also appeared in major commercials for Kellogg’s, Staples and Little Caesars Pizza.
