Gina Carano

Gina Joy Carano is an American actress and mixed martial artist known for her career in combat sports. From 2006 to 2009, she competed in Elite Xtreme Combat and Strikeforce, achieving a 7–1 record. Her success and visibility earned her recognition as a prominent figure in women's MMA, though she declined being labeled the "face of women's MMA." In 2009, Carano and Cris Cyborg made history as the first women to headline a major MMA event with their Strikeforce bout. After losing that fight, Carano retired from competition. She returned to the sport in 2026 for a rematch against Ronda Rousey.
