Biography

John Allen Astin is an American actor and director who has worked in stage, television, and film. He is best known for playing Gomez Addams, the head of the unusual family, in the original *The Addams Family* television series, which ran from 1964 to 1966. Astin later returned to the role in the 1977 TV movie *Halloween with the New Addams Family* and in the 1992–1993 animated series *The Addams Family*. Over the course of his career, he has performed a wide range of character roles, demonstrating his versatility as a performer in the entertainment industry.
