Biography

John Grisham is the writer of *Runaway Jury*. A graduate of Mississippi State University and the University of Mississippi School of Law, Grisham earned his law degree in 1981 and practiced law for approximately 10 years, focusing on criminal defense and personal injury litigation. He was elected to the Mississippi House of Representatives in 1983 and served until 1990. He left the legal profession to pursue writing full-time. Grisham began writing in 1984, and three years later, in 1987, his first novel was published.
