Biography
Jonathan Gems is a British playwright and screenwriter known for his work on the 1996 film *Mars Attacks!*, directed by Tim Burton, for which he also wrote the novelization. He adapted George Orwell's novel *1984* into a screenplay. Gems also authored *Mars Attacks Memoirs*, a book containing interviews about the behind-the-scenes experience of working on *Mars Attacks!* with Burton.
