Biography

Karl Markovics is an Austrian actor and film director born in Vienna, Austria. He is best known for his role in Stefan Ruzowitzky's 2007 film *The Counterfeiters*, in which he played a central character. The film received critical acclaim and won the first-ever Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film for Austria. Markovics has continued to build a notable career in European cinema, appearing in various films and television productions. In addition to acting, he has also worked as a director, contributing to the Austrian film industry through both performance and creative leadership.
