Kathy Bates is an actress known for her role in *Misery*. Born Kathleen (Doyle) Bates on June 28, 1948, in Memphis, Tennessee, she is the youngest of three daughters of Bertye Kathleen (Talbot), a homemaker, and Langdon Doyle Bates, a mechanical engineer.
