Biography

Leslie Merle Carlson was an American actor who spent most of his professional career in Canada. He was known for his collaborations with directors David Cronenberg and Bob Clark, and for his extensive work in theatre. Carlson received critical acclaim for his role in Cronenberg's *Videodrome* (1983), for which he was nominated for the Genie Award for Best Supporting Actor. He also won a Dora Award for his performance in Athol Fugard's *Valley Song* (1996).
