Biography

Lorna Iris Scott (1895–1984), known professionally as Lorna Scott, was a British botanist and senior lecturer at the University of Leeds. She made significant contributions to the field of botany and was an active member of various scientific organizations. In 1949, she became the first woman to serve as president of the Yorkshire Naturalists’ Union. She later held the presidency of the British Bryological Society from 1952 to 1953, further establishing her prominence in the botanical community.
