Lukas Hassel

Lukas Hassel was born and raised in Denmark. He trained and graduated from the Samuel Beckett Theater School at Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland. He currently resides in the United States. As a screenwriter, Hassel has won the Screencraft and CineStory Fellowships, and has placed in the top 30 and top 40 in the Nicholl's Fellowship. He also won the Shore Film Fund and the Fresh Voices TV Pilot competition. Hassel wrote and directed the sci-fi short film *Into the Dark*, which won multiple awards for acting, writing, and directing and screened at over 70 film festivals worldwide. His latest horror short film, *The Son, the Father...*, won the Hollyshorts Film Festival competition for best screenplay and secured a production deal, screening at over 60 film festivals and earning multiple awards. He is currently working on his first feature as a writer/director. Hassel has appeared on television as recurring character Elias VanDyke in *The Blacklist*, as well as in *Blue Bloods*, *Limitless*, *Elementary*, and others. He has also appeared in feature films such as *The Black Room*, *Art of the Dead*, *In Sickness*, and more.
