Biography

Marni Nixon was an American soprano known for her work as a ghost singer in Hollywood musical films. She provided the singing voices for several leading actresses, including Deborah Kerr in *The King and I* and *An Affair to Remember*, Natalie Wood in *West Side Story*, and Audrey Hepburn in *My Fair Lady*. Despite her significant contributions, her roles were kept secret from audiences at the time the films were released. Many of the songs she dubbed for these films later appeared on AFI's *100 Years...100 Songs* list, highlighting her lasting impact on the musical film genre.
