Biography
Michael Laren achieved early recognition with his career-defining portrayal of Jack Frost. His performance in the school play "The Christmas Song Sketch" at Sister Bea DeMille's 1967 St. Mary's Grade School Yuletide Extravaganza earned widespread acclaim and reportedly brought down the Catholitorium. At the time, Young Master Laren received favorable reviews from the Vatican, including from Pope Paul VI. In the years since, Laren has sought to recapture that early success and the papal attention it brought. Over the decades and through several papal successors to St. Peter's throne (none of whom have offered a congratulatory note or opening night bouquet), Laren has continued his career with determination. He has worked on Broadway in a supporting role with limited dancing, modest housing, and per diem, as well as in Hollywood in a recurring role on a weekly one-hour program, where his mute character appears in every episode and plays an integral part in the storylines. Michael Laren has continued to make a dramatic impact on religious and spiritual communities around the world, including monasteries, nunneries, a few synagogues (on his great-great-grandmother's side), several ashrams, and a vegan commune in Topanga Canyon.
