Nick Dash

Nick Dash has a distinctive background that combines military service with work in fiction and entertainment production. He served nearly fourteen years in the United States Marine Corps with an honorable discharge. Dash is also a screenwriter, director, and producer. A specialist in Marine Corps history, culture, and customs, he was deployed in several international operations, including assignments in Japan, Thailand, the Malaysia-Cambodia border, Laos, Korea, and Iraq. During his service, he instructed over 2,000 Marines in combat skills. His final assignment with the Marines was at the Marine Corps Combat Camera office in Los Angeles, where he was introduced to the entertainment industry. There, he worked as a staff non-commissioned officer to train Jamie Foxx in Marine Corps procedures for the film *Jarhead*, based on Anthony Swoffard's Gulf War memoir and starring Jake Gyllenhaal. Dash provided technical and logistical support to ensure the accurate portrayal of Marine and Soldier life in combat. He has also worked on various projects, including *Pool Party*, *Dr. G: Medical Examiner* for Discovery Channel, *The Best Damn Sports Show Period*, and the 2005 MTV Movie Awards Show. Dash produced, directed, and starred in the short film *Porthole*, a semi-autobiographical story about a Marine seeking identity after leaving the Corps. The film was well received at the 2006 Cannes Film Festival. Dash currently has several projects in development in Los Angeles and internationally. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Concordia University, Irvine.
