Paul Frederic Simon is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist known for his solo career and collaborations with Art Garfunkel. The duo, Simon & Garfunkel, rose to prominence in the 1960s with a unique blend of folk and rock music. Their work, including songs such as "The Sound of Silence," "Mrs. Robinson," "America," and "The Boxer," became closely associated with the 1960s counterculture movement. Their final album, *Bridge over Troubled Water* (1970), is among the best-selling albums in history.
