Biography
Peter Gilmore was an English actor who worked in television, film and stage musicals. He is best known for playing Captain James Onedin in the BBC period drama *The Onedin Line*, appearing in 91 episodes of the series from 1971 to 1980. His portrayal of the character became a defining role in his career.
