Radivoje Andric

Radivoje Andrić, born in 1967, is a film and television director. Before attending the Faculty of Dramatic Arts, he directed plays at the Dadov amateur theatre, including "Tomb for Boris Davidovich" (Grobnica za Borisa Davidovica) by Danilo Kiš and "Che - the Lasting Tragedy" (Ce-tragedija koja traje) by Duško Radović and Matija Bećković. Over the past ten or so years, he has gained experience working as an assistant to prominent Yugoslav directors. He participated in the Festival of Documentary and Short Film in Belgrade in 1997 with the films "January River" (Januarska reka) and "The Week of Fighting Against Interference" (Nedelja borbe protiv ometanja), both documenting demonstrations in Belgrade during 1996-1997 and produced by the independent Belgrade radio station and video production B-92. "January River" was also shown at the Pusan International Film Festival in 1998 and at L'Alternativa '98 in Barcelona. With these films, as well as his short documentary "Can't they see the writing on the wall * emancipating the media," he participated in that year's La Biennale di Venezia as a guest of the Italian pavilion, presenting video production from Radio B-92. His first feature film, "Three Palms for Two Punks and a Babe," earned him awards at nearly every Yugoslav film festival. He is currently preparing his second feature film.
