Biography

Randall Craig "Tex" Cobb is an American actor, martial artist, and former professional boxer who competed in the heavyweight division. Known for his durability and punching power, Cobb began his combat sports career in full contact kickboxing in 1975 before transitioning to professional boxing in 1977. He gained recognition for his brawler style and was considered to have one of the greatest boxing chins in history.

Cobb challenged Larry Holmes for the WBC and lineal world heavyweight title in November 1982, though he lost by a one-sided unanimous decision. Throughout his career, he secured victories over notable heavyweights such as Bernardo Mercado, Earnie Shavers, and Leon Spinks. He was ranked among the top 10 heavyweight boxers globally by The Ring in 1981 and 1982, and by BoxRec in 1982.
