Biography
Robert Anthony Rodriguez is an American filmmaker, composer, actor, chef, and visual effects supervisor who has worked extensively in both Mexico and Texas. He is known for his independent filmmaking approach, frequently handling the shooting, editing, producing, and scoring of his own projects. Rodriguez gained prominence with the 1992 action film *El Mariachi*, which achieved notable commercial success by earning $2.6 million with a budget of only $7,000. The film initiated the Mexico Trilogy, which also includes *Desperado* (1995) and *Once Upon a Time in Mexico* (2003).
