Biography

Sam O'Steen was an American film editor and director who worked frequently with director Mike Nichols. His editing on The Graduate (1967), Rosemary's Baby (1968) and Chinatown (1974) received critical acclaim and earned multiple award nominations, and his precise style affected the pacing and narrative structure of those films. He also directed several television movies, including Queen of the Stardust Ballroom (1975).
