Biography

Stanley Brock lived in the Lower East Side of Manhattan on E. 14th St. In his earlier days, he performed a comedy routine with a girl named Nan, under the act name "Stan and Nan." They performed one-nighters in the Upstate New York area, particularly in the Catskills, a region commonly referred to as the "Borscht Belt" due to the numerous holiday camps that primarily catered to the Jewish population from the New York City/Tri-State area. To supplement his income, he also worked clerical jobs for a Refrigeration and Air Conditioner Company in Manhattan. During the mid-60s to early 70s, he would test his comedy routines on his fellow employees. He later moved to Hollywood, where he found moderate success playing character roles in films and television. He was a semi-regular cast member on the *Barney Miller* (1975) series.
