Biography

Stephen McKinley Henderson is an American actor known for his work in theater and film. He trained at the Juilliard School and was a resident member of the Repertory Theatre of St. Louis from 1976 to 1981. Henderson gained recognition for his portrayals of characters in the plays of August Wilson. His career has earned him two Tony Award nominations, a Drama Desk Award nomination, and two Screen Actors Guild Award nominations. In 2021, Vulture recognized him as one of "The 32 Greatest Character Actors Working Today."
