Biography

The Edge is the stage name of David Howell Evans, an Irish and British musician best known as the lead guitarist, keyboardist, and backing vocalist for the rock band U2. A founding member of the group, he has contributed to 15 of their studio albums and one solo record. His distinctive guitar style, characterized by the use of delay effects, drone notes, harmonics, and a variety of effects units, has become a defining element of U2's sound.
