Biography
William Robert Young is an English singer, songwriter, and actor who gained fame after winning the 2002 inaugural series of the ITV talent show *Pop Idol*, making him the first winner of the global Idol franchise. His debut single, a double A-side "Anything Is Possible" / "Evergreen," was released two weeks after the show's finale and became the fastest-selling debut single in the UK. Young also performed "Light My Fire," a song written by the band The Doors, at World Idol, where he placed fifth.
