Biography

Yves Langlois, also known as Pierre Seguin, was a Canadian terrorist and member of the Front de libération du Québec (FLQ), a Quebec separatist group responsible for the 1970 October Crisis. Langlois played a key role in the kidnapping of British Trade Commissioner to Canada James Cross. He was also involved in the abduction and murder of Quebec cabinet minister Pierre Laporte, one of the most significant events of the crisis. His actions contributed to a period of political and social tension in Canada, leading to the invocation of the War Measures Act.
