Ted works as a research and development manager at Veridian Technologies, a corporation known for its morally ambiguous operations. Despite his success, Ted is guided by a strong sense of morality. Veridian is known for pushing boundaries, producing outlandish achievements and unconventional inventions. Ted enjoys his job and has a good rapport with his superhuman boss, Veronica, as well as his colleagues Lem, Phil, and Linda. However, he begins to question the company's ethics, particularly when it attempts to cryogenically freeze one of his scientists for testing.
