Andrea Anders

Andrea Anders was born in 1975 in Madison, Wisconsin, but raised in DeForest, Wisconsin. She attended DeForest Area High School, graduating in 1993, and later earned a BFA from the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point, followed by an MFA from Rutgers University. She began her career in theatre in 2001, appearing in productions such as *Proof*, *The Graduate*, *On the Jump*, *New Doors*, *Cold/Tender*, and *New World Rhapsody*. Anders made her television debut in 1998 with a guest role on the soap opera *One Life to Live*, and since then has primarily worked in television. She is best known for her role as lawyer Alex Garrett in the *Friends* spin-off *Joey*, which starred Matt LeBlanc. Other recurring roles include Donna Degenhart in *Oz*, Nicole Allen in *The Class* from 2006 to 2007, and Linda Zwordling in ABC's *Better Off Ted*. She also appeared as Alice in the sitcom *Mr. Sunshine*, written, produced, and starring Matthew Perry. Additional television credits include appearances on *Law & Order*, *The Guiding Light*, *Tru Calling*, and *Numb3rs*, as well as the telefilms *Spellbound* and *The Big D*. Anders made her film debut in 2004 in the comedy *How to Deal*, starring Nicole Kidman, Bette Midler, Glenn Close, and Matthew Broderick. She later appeared in *Never Been Kissed* and *Sex Drive*. She is the sister of director Sean Anders and has been in a relationship with actor Matt LeBlanc since 2006.
