As the school dance draws near, tension mounts among the characters: Missy avoids school due to social pressures, Matthew becomes overly consumed with preparations, and Andrew grows increasingly convinced that his alternate self harbors sinister intentions.

Jessi and Jay take on the challenge of caring for a melon they treat like a baby, while Missy confronts one of her fears. Meanwhile, Nick and Other Andrew attempt to connect with a group of wealthy students.

Nick undergoes a sudden growth spurt, which leads Ms. Dunn to guide the class on an educational journey through the body of a teenager to examine the changes associated with puberty.

Lola takes a dangerous risk by driving carelessly, while Jessi and her mother have a major disagreement. At the same time, Nick's mother finds an important item in his room while cleaning.
