*Broken News* is a comedy programme that aired on BBC Two in autumn 2005 and later on SBS-TV in Australia beginning 17 July 2006. The show satirized the format and conventions of 24-hour rolling news channels. Its title is a play on the term "breaking news." The programme used jump cuts to transition between its various spoof TV channels, which presented both a central story and other items of interest to their fictional audiences. A significant portion of the comedy focused on observations about the nature of news presentation rather than the content of the stories themselves.
