Dawson, an aspiring filmmaker, becomes caught in a love triangle when his friend Joey grows uneasy about his interest in the granddaughter of a local neighbor. At the same time, Dawson's childhood friend Pacey becomes smitten with a mysterious woman who is secretly a teacher in their town.

Dawson selects Jen as the lead in his film, but tensions rise when he disrupts her date at the school dance. Joey questions Mrs. Leery about her relationships, and Pacey's flirtatious behavior toward Tamara causes friction.
