A scientific mishap in a genius mother's lab disrupts the normal life of the Gillman family, forcing the three children to share a home with two additional teenagers—their parents, who have been transformed into high school students. Until they can reverse the situation, the family must live together and conceal the truth from the outside world. As part of the charade, the parents must enroll in their teenaged twins’ high school class, posing as their cousins. What does it feel like to attend school with your parents? What happens when the most popular boy in class develops a crush on your mother instead of you? And why is it that your father now has more Facebook friends than you? Will the members of the Gillman family gain new insights about one another, about family dynamics, and about perception before they return to their normal lives?
