Riki Lindhome and Kate Micucci, the comic and folk duo, brought their act to prime time with this scripted series for IFC. The show follows hard-working underdogs striving to make their mark in comedy while navigating messy dating situations, all while performing one satirical—and often saucy—song after another. The ukulele- and guitar-playing pair do not shy away from singing about life's unspoken truths, even when it leaves them feeling detached from their peers. The series shares its name with Lindhome and Micucci's band, which was inspired by "two famous rock 'n' roll second bananas," Art Garfunkel and John Oates.
