God, the Devil and Bob
In the film, God makes a wager with the Devil: if even one person can convince him that the world is worth saving, humanity will be spared; if not, God will destroy creation and begin anew. The Devil, in keeping with his nature, selects the most improbable candidate—the self-centered, slow-witted Detroit autoworker Bob Alman, a symbol of mediocrity. Bob reluctantly agrees to take on the challenge, tasked with living a decent life without divine guidance and under constant temptation from the Devil. As he is caught between divine and infernal forces, with the fate of the world resting on his shoulders, the only response left is to laugh.
