Synopsis
Robin is nominated to receive an award for a news report, and everyone needs a date to take to the show. Barney introduces Ted to Mary as a potential date he can take. Initially, Ted is resistant to the idea, only considering it as a way to save face in front of Robin, but when she arrives with a date of her own, he changes his mind. Robin asks Mary many questions, and Ted gradually begins to develop feelings for her, despite her profession.
