Police Squad!

Sally, a bank teller burdened by debt, robs her workplace and frames an ordinary man who was there. The Police Squad investigates a double shooting during the robbery, uncovering inconsistencies in the evidence. As clues mount against Sally, detective Frank works to gather proof to secure her conviction.

Frank takes on a veteran boxer who has started losing intentionally, aiming to uncover the truth behind his decline. As Frank gets closer to the boxer, he discovers that the boxer's manager is involved in fixing matches and has kidnapped the boxer's girlfriend. With the boxer's title fight at stake, Frank works to rescue her and prevent the fight from being thrown.

On her 18th birthday, the daughter of a wealthy businessman is kidnapped, prompting the Police Squad to investigate. The boyfriend emerges as the primary suspect, but clues such as a tuba or ship's horn heard in a recorded message lead Frank and Ed to a tuba store in their search. The investigation culminates in a confrontation with the kidnapper, who resists arrest.

Frank investigates a bomb threat at a district judge's courtroom, focusing on a recently paroled ex-convict with a history of bombings. While questioning the suspect's ex-wife, Frank and Ed find her more concerned with charity than her ex's criminal past. They also uncover the suspect's secret relationship with a showgirl who provides an alibi, raising suspicions about her true motives.

A mob-run "insurance" scheme targets local businesses and residents, prompting Frank and Nordberg to investigate. After a dance instructor is attacked, they open a locksmith and key-making shop as part of an undercover operation. When the mob confronts them with threats, Frank refuses to comply, leading to a confrontation and ultimately uncovering the means to stop the criminal activity.

A struggling comedian who owes money to a nightclub owner is found dead at the bottom of a cliff following what appears to be a suicide. Later, it is revealed he was a police informant working undercover in a drug ring operating out of the club. Frank assumes the comedian's role at the nightclub to continue the investigation.
