Police Story
*Police Story* is an anthology television crime drama created by author and former police officer Joseph Wambaugh. The series marked a significant advancement in the realistic portrayal of police work and violence on network television. Despite its anthology format, each episode shared common elements, including a police officer as the main character. All stories were set in Los Angeles, with characters affiliated with various branches of the LAPD. Although the series was structured as an anthology, it featured recurring characters, including Scott Brady, who appeared in over a dozen episodes as "Vinnie," a retired officer who ran a bar frequented by police and served as a narrative commentator, akin to a Greek chorus, throughout the series.
