Santa Evita
After Eva Perón’s death in 1952, her body was kept for three years while awaiting the construction of a mausoleum, which was never completed. In 1955, the military took control of Argentina and concealed Perón’s remains from the public, concerned that her presence might rally the nation against them. However, they did not anticipate that her absence would make her more powerful in death than she had been in life.
