Dwight and Jim experience a shift in their usual dynamic with the arrival of two young new hires, while Andy returns from a leadership training program with a determination to seek revenge.

At Roy's wedding, a toast leads Pam and Jim to contemplate the hidden truths within their relationship, while Dwight reacts strongly to Nellie's new workplace charity requirement.

Andy takes pride in his newfound connection to Michelle Obama, while Darryl faces challenges in his new role. Dwight attempts to impress Erin's boyfriend's family by teaching her a new language, and Nellie tries to convince Pam that Jim is involved in an affair.

The office staff evacuates to a rented bus as their building is declared unsafe. Nellie asks Andy for help with adopting a baby, and Jim lifts Pam's spirits with a gesture themed around pie.

During a Halloween-themed office event, Andy brings in his college a cappella group for a performance, which causes friction with Broccoli Rob. At the same time, Dwight grows convinced that a dangerous person is present in the office and initiates an investigation. Meanwhile, Jim's first day in a new position leads to conflict with Pam.

Andy's family faces financial difficulties, while Dwight's participation in a local radio show becomes the subject of pranks by the office staff. At the same time, Kevin uncovers a major secret about Oscar.

The office women try to teach Dwight proper etiquette when dealing with female clients, Angela starts to suspect the senator of being unfaithful, and Toby motivates several male employees to grow mustaches as part of a workplace initiative.

Angela turns to Dwight for help after finding out about her husband's affair. At the same time, Stanley and Phyllis take advantage of Jim's need for a favor, and Pete interrupts Pam as she is working on her mural.

When the party planning committee is unable to organize the annual Christmas party, Dwight steps in and orchestrates a traditional Schrute Christmas for the office. At the same time, Darryl becomes concerned that Jim has not included him in a new role in Philadelphia, while Pete spends time showing Erin his favorite movie, *Die Hard*.

Pam accidentally brings lice into the office and persuades Meredith to take the blame, leading Dwight to initiate an aggressive effort to eliminate them. Meanwhile, Jim has a productive day in Philadelphia attempting to win over a potential business partner, as Phyllis, Nellie, and Kevin meddle in Darryl's personal affairs.

Clark introduces an espresso maker to the office, and he and Dwight pretend to be father and son in an attempt to close a deal. Meanwhile, Darryl attends a job interview at Jim's company, where Pam unexpectedly stops by.

Dwight tries to stop Darryl from joining Jim's new startup, while Jim deals with tension with Pam after missing their daughter's first recital. At the same time, Nellie uncovers and shares a secret involving Pete and Erin.

Dwight organizes a team of his associates, including his eccentric beet-farming cousin Mose, to serve as part-time salesmen, one of whom will temporarily replace Jim at his desk, leaving Pam curious about her new temporary coworker. Meanwhile, Erin begins a search for her birth parents with assistance from Pete.

Pam is upset when her mural in the warehouse is vandalized. Darryl struggles with Jim's obsessive cleanliness in their shared apartment. Angela reluctantly agrees to let Oscar and Kevin attend her son's first birthday.

The office staff creates fake couples to benefit from a Valentine's Day promotion at a mall. Erin tells Pete that she will break up with Andy when he returns, although Pete doubts her. At the same time, Jim and Pam spend time with the sound technician working on the office documentary.

Pam explores a job opportunity in Philadelphia, where her prospective manager reminds her of Michael Scott. Dwight asks Angela to help him care for his elderly aunt, Shirley, by giving her a bath, while Andy attempts to unsettle his coworkers, Pete and Erin.

Dwight visits his family's beet farm and bed-and-breakfast, where he and his siblings discover an unexpected inheritance. Meanwhile, Todd Packer attempts to make amends for years of rude behavior at the office.

The office becomes excited with the airing of TV promos for their documentary. Dwight begins dating a Brussels sprout farmer, which upsets Angela. Jim prepares for a significant meeting with Major League Baseball player Ryan Howard.

When the office elevator breaks down, employees are forced to use the stairs, disrupting the usual routine. Dwight assigns Stanley an unexpected sales task, while Pam and Jim discuss personal issues with Nellie and Toby. Angela shows her continued support for her husband.

Dwight and Angela participate in a paper airplane contest, showcasing their creativity and office expertise. Meanwhile, Andy explores an unexpected acting opportunity, and Jim and Pam incorporate newly acquired skills into their everyday routines.

After Andy's departure, Dwight is promoted to regional manager. Jim tries to concentrate more on his work and his marriage, while Angela struggles to adjust to her new living situation following the end of her relationship with The Senator.

Jim supports Dwight in organizing a selection process for an Assistant to the Assistant Regional Manager, which results in a series of tryouts. At the same time, Angela brings her child to the office following a problem at the daycare, and Andy takes part in an a cappella talent competition.

A year after the documentary's release, former and current Dunder Mifflin employees gather for a panel about the film and to celebrate Dwight and Angela's wedding.
