Akif Erdem, a physics teacher and the protagonist of the story, aims to teach his students a "lesson in humanity." However, he employs a teaching method unlike any conventional approach. For what is to be their final class together, Akif Erdem takes his 12A students hostage at Küçükkuyu High School and isolates the class from the rest of the school using a bomb. The students and Akif are now unable to leave. Akif then poses a question to the students: "Who among you caused the death of your classmate Kay Örnek?" The only way for the students to escape this situation, according to Akif, is to tell the truth.
