Xiaolin Showdown is an American animated television series created by Christy Hui and produced for the Kids WB programming block on the WB Network. The show is set in a world where martial arts and Eastern magic are common, following four young warriors in training as they protect ancient magical artifacts known as Shen Gong Wu from villains who seek to use them for world domination. Premiering in 2003, the series ran for three seasons and 52 episodes. Each episode typically centers on the discovery of a specific Shen Gong Wu, prompting a race between the heroes and the villains to obtain it. The conflict usually culminates in a magical duel known as a Xiaolin Showdown, where one hero and one villain battle for control of the artifact. A sequel series, Xiaolin Chronicles, was previewed on August 26, 2013, on Disney XD and began its full run on September 14 of the same year.

    With no Shen-Gong-Wu appearing for weeks, the Xiaolin Warriors grow uneasy until four suddenly reveal themselves at once. Each warrior is sent to a different location—Kimiko to a swamp, Raimundo to a beach, Clay to the Arctic, and Omi to a desert—while Jack and Wuya, aided by Katnappé, Tubbimura, and Chameleon-Bot 2.0, also pursue the artifacts. As four Xiaolin Showdowns erupt simultaneously, the team must find a way to work together and secure the Shen-Gong-Wu.

Omi uses Jack's time machine alone with one Shen-Gong-Wu to seek out Dashi and obtain another puzzlebox to trap Wuya.

The Xiaolin Warriors attempt to stop them, but their confidence in Raimundo remains low since he is no longer an official apprentice.

    Guan, a legendary warrior, arrives and meets the Xiaolin Warriors for the first time. He convinces Dojo to take him to a palace where the powerful villain Chase Young lives, though Dojo is unaware of the true purpose. Guan ultimately trades Dojo to Chase in exchange for his lost weapon, the Spear of Guan, leaving Dojo frightened by Chase's intentions.

    Kimiko accidentally breaks the Mosaic Scale and hides the pieces in Clay's room, but the next day he begins to act strangely. The broken Scale had been containing Sabeeny, a mischievous earwig spirit who has taken over the Dragon of Earth. If Sabeeny retrieves the Monarch Wings, the Scale's counterpart, he will become powerful enough to no longer need a host.

    The Heart of Jong accidentally falls into a crevice and is buried in snow during a struggle between the Monks and Jack Spicer over the Lunar Locket, causing the snow to come alive as the new Shen-Gong-Wu, Raksha. Raksha teams up with Wuya in an effort to plunge the Earth into a permanent Ice Age, prompting the monks to attempt stopping him.

    Every thousand years, the Shen-Gong-Wu combine to create Mala Mala Jong, who now seeks to use the Ring of Nine Dragons to assemble the Fearsome Four. To gain control over all the Shen-Gong-Wu, he sets out to find the Emperor Scorpion. The Xiaolin Warriors must once again confront Jong to prevent his plans.

    The Warriors return to Texas in search of a new Shen-Gong-Wu, only to be captured by the Black Vipers, an all-female motorcycle gang, and imprisoned in a cave. Clay is surprised to discover that one of the gang members is his long-lost sister, who has harbored resentment toward him for years. The episode follows their struggle to escape without injury.

    The Warriors encounter a mermaid frozen in ice and taken under their protection, but an ancient warrior determined to capture her challenges their assumptions about both the mermaid and his true identity.

    The Warriors travel to Tokyo to find the Zing Zom-Bone, a Shen-Gong-Wu with the power to induce a zombie-like trance. They encounter Kimiko's father, a prominent video game company owner who unknowingly hires Pandabubba as a business partner. As Pandabubba uses the Zing Zom-Bone to manipulate the workers and Kimiko's father, the Warriors must find a way to stop him once again.

    The Heylin comet's arrival causes the Shen-Gong-Wu to become sentient if used, prompting Master Fung to forbid their use for three days. Raimundo becomes increasingly attached to the Golden Tiger Claws after using them to save his hometown, and as the Wu begin to control him, he starts to transform into a monstrous state. Wuya seeks to exploit this by taking over his body to achieve her goal of world domination.

    Chase Young, frustrated by Jack's repeated losses to the Xiaolin Warriors, encourages him to steal the Tongue of Saiping and merge it with the Monkey Staff to command an army of green monkeys. Jack leads the army against the Warriors, successfully defeating them and trapping them within the Xiaolin Temple. Meanwhile, two new Shen-Gong-Wu, the Fountain of Hui and the Eagle Scope, are introduced, capable of revealing profound secrets, including the means to eliminate evil from the world, prompting Chase to search for them.

    Master Fung assigns the Xiaolin Warriors a critical mission: protecting the Heylin Seed from evil forces. When they fail to contain it, they must seek out the Moonstone Locust to stop the spreading menace. At the same time, Vlad returns and teams up with Jack.

    Jack and Cyclops capture Chase Young using the Sphere of Yun and seize control of his lair, later attacking the Xiaolin Temple to steal Shen-Gong-Wu. Omi secretly frees Chase using the Reversing Mirror to repay a past debt, without informing the other Xiaolin Warriors. Chase begins manipulating Omi, attempting to shape him into the evil warrior he believes Omi is destined to become.

  22. 2.22The ApprenticeMay 7, 2005Rate

    Chase Young seeks an apprentice, setting up a competition between Katnappé and Jack. Katnappé reprograms the Warriors' U-bots and is chosen as Chase's apprentice, prompting Jack to pledge his loyalty to the side of good. As Omi trains Jack to overcome his inner darkness, Katnappé attacks the Temple, leading Jack to take the Warriors' Wu and testing Omi's trust in him.

    Jermaine rejoins the team as a Wudai Warrior, a rank above Xiaolin Apprentice, causing tension with Omi, who feels demoted. As Jermaine's connection to Chase Young is revealed, the team tries to warn him about Chase's true allegiance, but Jermaine, still upset with Omi, refuses to listen.

    Jack accidentally unleashes the most powerful spiders in the world, known as the Warriors, prompting a temporary alliance between Jack, Chase Young, and the other warriors to stop them before they take over. While Kimiko, Raimundo, Clay, and Jack are captured, Omi and Chase escape and use the combined power of the Fountain of Hui and the Eagle Scope in search of a way to defeat the spiders.

    Master Fung announces that one of the Xiaolin Warriors will soon reach the rank of Wudai Warrior, leading to competition among the team. When the Warriors lose the artifact, they discover Master Fung has been captured and taken there, prompting Omi to seek Chase Young's help to retrieve the Yo-Yo, rescue their master, and confront the consequences of its power.

    With Omi having turned to the dark side and Master Fung trapped in a deep meditative state, the team faces mounting challenges when Chase Young revives Wuya in human form, though she is powerless. The team, joined by Jack Spicer, sets out to rescue Omi and restore Master Fung's chi.

The Wudai Warriors must now confront this powerful new threat.

    Kimiko uses several Shen-Gong-Wu to connect to a satellite and gain the ability to read global thoughts. Hannibal Bean observes her and discovers a secret about Chase's vulnerability through the Heylin Eclipse. Wuya then joins forces with Hannibal to defeat Chase and seize the Shen-Gong-Wu.

    Master Fung informs the monks that the true leader will be revealed after completing their final quest. Omi, determined to prevent Chase from joining the Heylin, decides to travel back in time, and to do so, he freezes himself for 80 years to speak with his younger self.

    Omi replaces Chase Young's evil-inducing soup with pea soup, temporarily preventing his corruption but causing unintended consequences: Master Monk Guan becomes evil instead, Master Fung is trapped in the Ying-Yang world, and Jack turns good. The team retrieves the original soup from the past but is captured by Hannibal, leading to Chase sacrificing his goodness to free them. As they reach the Heylin seed's vault, a four-way Xiaolin Showdown ensues between the new Warriors and Hannibal's team, with the outcome determining the next leader.
