Synopsis

Dr. Adrian Helmsley, a member of a global geophysical team studying the impact of radiation from unprecedented solar storms on Earth, discovers that the planet's core is increasing in temperature. He alerts U.S. President Thomas Wilson that the Earth's crust is becoming unstable and that without adequate preparations to save a portion of the global population, humanity faces extinction. At the same time, writer Jackson Curtis independently uncovers the same information. As world leaders rush to construct "arks" to escape the coming disaster, Curtis seeks a way to protect his family. In the meantime, volcanic eruptions and earthquakes of extraordinary intensity cause widespread devastation across the globe.
